Statesman R155W - White Undercounter Fridge - F energy - Icebox

Bought to replace a 23yr old fridge which had a 20 litre capacity(only 2-star) ice box - which by the way could hold 12 standard-size frozen meals. An important difference for me is that this Statesman fridge does not have its heat exchanger grid at the back ( I don't think many fridges do any more ) but it releases the heat taken from inside the fridge out through the sides - which means that having a decent (at least 25mm ) clearance at the sides is really important - I had to cut some 35mm width out of one kitchen unit to allow for this. The 4 star ice box is definitely much colder than my old fridge was - to cut into the surface of "soft scoop" ice cream, you almost need a chisel or even a mattock! rather than a spoon. I would say that you can hear this fridge working for longer periods than the one it replaced, and the electricity smart meter suggests running costs might be a pound or two more per month. But having said all the above, I really think it's a pretty reasonable product - I'd just got rather comfortable with my old one till it gave up on me.
